Restorative Dentistry Services & Treatments:
Gone are the days when cavities could only be treated with unsightly silver metal fillings.
At Dentistry of South Florida, our dental team has the ability to treat and fill a cavity with natural, tooth colored composite that leaves virtually no trace of repair.
In taking advantage evolving dental technology, the new tooth-colored materials are safer, stronger, and more durable than their metallic counterparts. The composite resin is mercury free, provides an attractive and natural look, while at the same time restoring strength and durability to your tooth. A true win-win-win for your mouth.
We believe that our patients deserve only the best dental care, and that means fillings that are both safe and also beautiful to the eye!
While our main goal is to always save a tooth, there are circumstances when the decison to extract a tooth is the best option. We may recommend an extraction when the issue is related to disease, trauma or over-crowding.
Wisdom teeth, or molars, may also need to be removed in order to avoid current or future issues such as pain or over-crowding.
Our dentists take great care when extracting a tooth, with a concentration on comfort and providing gentle dental care. Our office uses only the latest technologies, which provides our dentists with the ability to complete extractions with only a bit of pressure, with only very little or no discomfort at all.
When the nerve of a tooth becomes infected or inflamed, we may recommend a root canal as the optimal treatment for saving the tooth.
Our dental team knows that certain procedures may cause some anxiety, and root canals are no exception. We want to assure you that well planned, gentle treatment is always the right option because an infected tooth will never heal on its own, usually getting worse and more painful with time.
After the root canal procedure is complete, we’ll schedule one or more follow-up appointments to completely restore the tooth. Depending on your individual needs, we may use any number of techniques to restore the tooth, the most common of which involves the placing of a dental crown.
Whether your need for a root canal stems from a routine dental exam or an episode of oral pain, we will always discuss which treatment options best achieve the goal of saving the tooth.
If you have any questions about root canal therapy, please contact our office as we will be happy to provide more information and assist in any way that we can.
When the decay or fracture level of a tooth is extremely high, a filling or a crown may not be able to save the tooth. In cases of extensive repair, an onlay or inlay may be placed in order to recreate the tooth’s surface.
Both our inlays and onlays are made of high quality tooth colored porcelain and are permanently cemented in by your dentist.
Dental inlays and onlays can be an excellent choice for extensive cavity repair, increased chewing strength, and general build up of back teeth. Virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth, dental inlays and onlays discreetly restore teeth to an optimal state of health. They resemble natural teeth so closely that it is virtually impossible to detect their presence.
If you have any questions about dental inlays or dental onlays, please contact our office and we will be happy to answer any questions you have have.
A dental crown, also know as a cap, is a natural looking cover that fits snugly over an existing tooth, utilized to conceal a cracked, badly discolored, injured or chipped tooth.
Crowns offer added strength and comfort to damaged teeth, making them less susceptible to injury or disease.
While crowns are one of the most practical and popular dental tools, it is a fact that not all dental crowns are created equal.
At Dentistry of South Florida, we pride itself on offering the highest qulaity crowns made from the safest and most durable materials. Our dental professionals manufacture our crowns using porcelain material that is fused to a high noble metal such as gold. We never use subpar, semi-precious metals.
Dental bridges are an ideal choice for replacing missing teeth.
A person with missing teeth has a hard time feeling confident about how he or she looks and as a result, how he or she feels. And while a person may be self-conscious because of missing teeth, an equally important concern is the additional oral health problems that can arise as a result.
At Dentistry of South Florida, our dentists may recommend a dental bridge as a replacement for one or more missing teeth.
A dental bridge consists of an artificial tooth, or multiple teeth, that are attached to dental crowns on either side for stability. The artificial tooth or teeth are inserted into the open space(s), creating a complete set of teeth that look great, feel ngreat, and are fully functional.
If you are missing one or more of your original teeth, we encourage you to contact us to gain more information regarding dental bridges, and if creating a custom form fitted dental bridge may be a good solution for you.
At Dentistry of South Florida, we use the high quality dental implants that are sure to look great and not interfere with your oral health.
Dental implants are regarded as the most natural and permanent solution to missing teeth. With dental implants, our dentists are able to once again give our patients the confidence, atrractiveness, and stability that may have seemed to have vanished when the original tooth was lost.
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root, made of titanium, an ultra-strong material that is surgically placed directly into your jaw. The titanium implant becomes integrated with your bone and will ultimately be utilized to support a your new tooth, in fthe form of a dental crown.
We rely on our in-house periodontal specialists to surgically place the implant, then one of our general dentists will carefully complete the process by attaching a natural-looking, specially crafted dental crown onto the implant post.
Depending on the number of original teeth that need to be replaced, dental implants can support a single crown, a bridge, or even a full set of dentures. The results are teeth that are as natural and aesthetically pleasing as they are strong and durable.
It is important to note that note all dental implants are equal, and they quality of the material is as important as the expertise of the periodontist. We welcome you to contact us for a consultation to determine if a dental implant is the best option for you.

Partial dentures fill the gaps left by missing teeth. Partial dentures are held in place with either metal or tooth-colored clasps that are discreetly placed and attached to your natural teeth. Usually made of resin or metal, partial dentures allow more comfortable and effective chewing, improved speech, and prevent sagging of the cheeks and lips. An excellent choice for those with multiple missing teeth.Caring For Your Dentures
There is a belief among many that once a person has dentures, they no longer need regular dental care. Similar to patients with natural teeth, denture wearers require regular exams to ensure their health, comfort, and appearance. Gum tissues are in a constant state of change and need to be monitored. Periodic relining of the dentures may be necessary to ensure a tight and comfortable fit.To find out if dentures are the best option for you, please contact our office directly.
